The Nationwide League One (NLO) has officially confirmed the promotion of four clubs from the Northern Conference to the Nigeria National League (NNL) following a competitive 2025 playoff series.
The successful teams are:
- Mai Kunkele United (Niger State)
- Kano Ambassadors (Kano State)
- Warinje FC (Bauchi State)
- City FC (FCT, Abuja)
At the Bwari Centre, Mai Kunkele United emerged top after edging House of Prayer FA on goal difference. Both sides finished with seven points from two wins and a draw, but it was Mai Kunkele’s superior goal margin that sealed promotion. Zeal Minds FC and Na Royal FC ended with three and zero points, respectively.
Over at the Jos Centre, Warinje FC impressed by going unbeaten in three matches, with two wins and a draw ensuring they topped their group.
Kano Ambassadors dominated at the Gumel Centre, claiming maximum points from their three matches. The Kano side scored seven goals and conceded just twice, finishing with a perfect nine points ahead of JNR Danburan FC, Clever Warriors, and Discovery Academy.
In Kaduna, City FC of Abuja stood tall at the ABS Centre, overcoming Vet Rovers FC, CAMPRO FC, and FWC FC to clinch the only available promotion slot.
With four teams through from the Northern Conference, attention now shifts to the Southern Conference where the final four promotion spots to the NNL will be contested.
