Midfielder Ani Chigozie has confirmed his departure from Enyimba FC after one season with the nine-time Nigerian champions.

In a heartfelt message shared on Facebook, Chigozie expressed deep gratitude to the club, describing his time in Aba as an "incredible journey" filled with unforgettable memories and personal growth.

“Thank you for the memories, experiences, and growth,” he wrote. “Special thanks to Coach Yemi Olanrewaju for the trust and opportunity to make my CAF debut – a moment I’ll forever cherish.”

The 23-year-old also appreciated Chairman Kanu Nwankwo and Sporting Director Ifeanyi Ekwueme for their leadership and vision, while acknowledging the efforts of the club’s staff throughout his stay.

Chigozie joined Enyimba from Coal City United and was officially unveiled on 20 August 2024. He made four NPFL appearances for the People's Elephant last season, including a notable debut in continental competition.

As he moves on, the midfielder expressed pride in having worn the iconic Enyimba jersey and wished the team continued success in Nigerian football.
