Barau FC Arrives Asaba with Eyes Set on NPFL Promotion



Barau FC of Kano State have touched down in Asaba, Delta State, ahead of the 2025 Nigeria National League (NNL) Super Eight playoffs.

The club, popularly known as the Maliya Boys, arrived on Wednesday with a 32-man playing squad and over 15 officials, including the coaching crew, as they aim to secure promotion to the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) for the 2025/26 season.



In a statement released by the club’s Media Officer, Ahmad Hamisu Gwale, Barau FC reaffirmed their commitment to working hard and giving their best in the highly competitive playoff tournament.



The NNL Super Eight, scheduled to hold from 5 to 12 July 2025 at the Stephen Keshi Stadium in Asaba, will feature eight teams: Barau FC, Warri Wolves, Osun United, Crown FC, Kun Khalifat FC of Owerri, Wikki Tourists, Yobe Desert Stars, and Doma United of Gombe.



The tournament will determine the four clubs to be promoted to the NPFL and also decide the overall champion of the 2024/25 NNL season.
