Honourable Salami Inspires 3SC as Oluyole Warriors Hold Ikorodu City in Eko Cup Opener

Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) of Ibadan played out a 2-2 draw with Ikorodu City in the opening match of the Eko International Cup 2025 held on Sunday at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena in Lagos.

The Oluyole Warriors took an early lead in the 5th minute through Gideon Monday, who capitalised on a goalkeeping error by Ikorodu City’s Oyeyoga Akeem. The hosts responded in the 16th minute when Oyedokun Tosin converted a penalty to level the scores before half-time.

Ikorodu City went ahead in the 50th minute thanks to a stunning strike by Joseph Arumala, but 3SC captain Abayomi Adebayo salvaged a point with a late equaliser.

Ahead of the match, Executive Chairman of 3SC, Honourable Taiwo Lekan Salami, addressed the team in the dressing room, encouraging the players to give their best. He had earlier seen them off from Ibadan, demonstrating strong support for the squad.
