Mustapha Lawal impressed in goal as the Super Eagles B team edged Remo Stars 1–0 in a friendly encounter played in Ikenne.
The Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) of Ibadan goalkeeper was solid between the posts, producing a crucial first-half penalty save that kept the home-based Eagles level before Anthony Ijomaone netted the only goal of the match.
Ijomaone’s strike proved decisive in the contest, which was organised to help the Eagles build match fitness ahead of next month’s African Nations Championship (CHAN).
Lawal, popularly known as “The Black Spider,” was later substituted at half-time for Ani Ozoemana but had already made his mark with a clean sheet and commanding performance.
