Alhaji Ibrahim Musa Gusau, President of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), has officially assumed office as President of the West African Football Union (WAFU) Zone B.
The handover ceremony took place on Monday at the WAFU headquarters in Cocody Riviera 4, Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire.
Gusau succeeds Ghana Football Association President, Mr. Kurt-Edwin Simeon Okraku, who was recently elected to the CAF Executive Committee and appointed Second Vice President of the Confederation of African Football.
Okraku’s promotion followed the CAF Congress held on 12 March 2025 in Egypt.
In his new capacity, Gusau will steer the affairs of WAFU Zone B, which comprises Nigeria, Ghana, Côte d’Ivoire, Benin, Togo, Niger Republic, and Burkina Faso, with a focus on boosting football development and regional cooperation.
