El-Kanemi Warriors Football Club will host Yobe Desert Stars of Damaturu in their final pre-season fixture on Tuesday, 19 August 2025, at the El-Kanemi Warriors Sports Complex, Maiduguri. Kick-off is scheduled for 10 a.m.
The Zulum Boys returned to Maiduguri on Sunday, 17 August 2025, after completing a rigorous pre-season tour where they secured two victories, two draws, and suffered one defeat. The friendly against Yobe Desert Stars, coached by Sarkinyo, who recently resumed training, will serve as the last test for the team ahead of the new Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) campaign.
Head coach Kabiru Suleiman Dogo will be looking to fine-tune his squad before their crucial league opener against Bendel Insurance.
The club also confirmed the signing of experienced defender Habila David from Hapoel Ramat Gan in the Israeli Premier League, adding further depth to their backline.
