Barau Football Club are aiming for their first home victory of the 2025/2026 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season as they prepare to face Bendel Insurance in a Matchday 3 encounter at the Sani Abacha Stadium, Kofar Mata, on Sunday.
Head coach Ladan Bosso believes his side can bounce back from their setback against Bayelsa United and deliver three points in front of their home fans.
“I spoke with the club doctor about the players’ fitness, and he confirmed that they are in good condition. With this assurance, I believe the victory is for us,” Bosso told the club’s media team on Saturday.
“Our target remains to secure at least ten points in our first five matches. For now, our focus is fully on the clash against Bendel Insurance, and by the grace of God, we will gain the three points,” he added.
Barau FC have made changes to their squad for the encounter. Young midfielder Adamu Ibrahim has been included in the 20-man list after returning from Nigeria U-20 trials, and could make his debut for the club.
In a further boost, Sai’du Salisu returns after recovering from a hamstring injury picked up in the opening match against Enyimba FC, while Sunday Antony has also been recalled to the squad.
With new energy and reinforcements available, the Maliya Boys will look to make home advantage count when the game kicks off at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday.
