NPFL 26: Defeat to Rangers Is Plateau United's Worst Result This Season – Adegun

Plateau United head coach, Shola Adegun, has described his side’s 2-0 defeat to Rangers International as their worst performance of the season.

The matchday three fixture of the 2025/26 Nigeria Premier Football League season at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium, Enugu, saw Rangers claim a comfortable win, leaving Plateau United without a point after three games.

Despite the poor start, Adegun expressed confidence that his team can recover and begin to turn their fortunes around.

“This is not the result we wanted, but we aimed to see improvements from the first two games. We got some of that in this match, even though it is probably our worst result so far,” Adegun said.

“I prefer to focus on the positives and build on them. For the first time, we are starting to see bits and pieces of what we can do. It is now our job to restore confidence to the players and help them believe they can score goals in the coming matches.”

Plateau United remain at the bottom of the table with zero points after three fixtures.
