Oyo State Government has approved ₦110 million to host the Falconets’ 2026 U-20 Women’s World Cup qualifier against Rwanda at the Lekan Salami Stadium, Ibadan.
The funds will cover logistics, accommodation, security, and feeding for the national team. According to the state government, the support is part of ongoing efforts to boost sports development and promote youth empowerment in Oyo.
The Falconets are expected to draw a large crowd when they face Rwanda, as the fixture marks another opportunity for the state to showcase its sporting facilities on the national stage.
The Rwandans will host the first leg of the second-round games in Kigali on Sunday, 21st September, with the return leg scheduled for the Lekan Salami Stadium, Ibadan on Saturday, 27th September.
