The Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), Abia State Chapter, has congratulated Ahudiyannem Queens of Abiriba on their promotion to the Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Premiership.
The team impressed during the tournament, winning two matches, drawing one, scoring six goals and conceding only once.
Chairman of the Interim Management Committee, Kingsley Chijioke Okwum, described the achievement as a fitting reward for hard work and resilience.
“From your first game down to the last, you showed intent, resilience and determination to succeed. This promotion to the NWFL is a fitting reward for hard work. We congratulate the coach, Ann Chiejine, her technical crew, the players and the management. We urge you to keep the same winning spirit as you play in the elite league next season. We wish you well as you make your debut in one of Africa's most prestigious women's football leagues,” Okwum said.
SWAN Abia also extended its congratulations to Dr Robert Onyeani, Proprietor of Ahudiyannem Queens, noting that his investment and contributions to sports development in the state had been rewarded with this historic success.
