Pillars Power Past Ikorodu City as Ali and Manu Deliver the Magic

Kano Pillars secured a well-earned 2–1 win over Ikorodu City at the Sani Abacha Stadium, with captain Rabi’u Ali and midfielder Suleiman Idris, known as Manu, producing the decisive contributions.

Pillars opened the scoring through their evergreen leader, Ali, who rose superbly to head home the first goal. The finish was a refreshing shift from his trademark free kicks, penalties, and long-range strikes, yet it carried the same authority that has defined his influence on the team for years.

Manu doubled the advantage with a stunning 30-yard free kick. The midfielder, who has tried similar efforts throughout the season, finally found the perfect strike to reward his persistence. His growing confidence from set pieces continues to flourish as Ali gradually entrusts more responsibility to him.

Ikorodu City pulled one back through Joseph Arumala, but Pillars remained composed to see out the match and claim all three points.

With this challenge settled, Kano Pillars now shift focus to their next fixture in two weeks against Kun Khalifat. Their scheduled match against Rivers United next week may be postponed due to Rivers United’s involvement in continental competition.
