Wikki Tourists earned a valuable away point after a thrilling 2–2 draw against Warri Wolves in Match Day 19 of the NPFL 26.
Imamu Bala opened the scoring for the visitors in the 37th minute, finishing off an assist from Saifullahi to make a fine return to form. Warri Wolves responded quickly after the break as Ezekiel Oroh levelled in the 46th minute, before Seth Mayi put the hosts ahead in the 56th minute.
Showing great character, Wikki Tourists pushed back and Bala secured his second goal of the game in the 76th minute, assisted by Nasiru Jibrin, to ensure his side left Ozoro with a well-deserved point.
Head Coach Abdu Maikaba said the team aimed for all three points but was encouraged by the draw away from home. “The plan was to pick the maximum points, but getting a draw away from home is still encouraging,” he said.
Maikaba praised his players for their commitment and fighting spirit, especially after conceding twice in the second half. Wikki Tourists remain 14th on the league table and look to bounce back strongly as the season approaches the break.
