Kwara United chairman, Mr Kumbi Titiloye, has challenged the club’s players to raise their level of performance as the Nigeria Premier Football League season enters its second stanza.
Titiloye made this known on Monday during the team’s resumption for the second half of the campaign, where he expressed dissatisfaction with the side’s first round showing.
The chairman described Kwara United’s performances in the opening stanza as below expectations and urged the players to show greater commitment going forward.
Addressing the squad, Titiloye warned that selection would be based strictly on merit and performance.
“You must sit tight and ensure you justify your inclusion in the team with your performances,” he told the players.
Kwara United finished the first stanza in 12th position on the NPFL table with 24 points.
The Ilorin-based club, popularly known as the Harmony Boys, will face Bendel Insurance in their opening fixture of the second stanza as they look to push for a stronger league finish.
