Nigeria’s Super Eagles have earned a hefty $80,000 reward for their clinical finishing at the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Morocco.
The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) pledged a $5,000 bonus for each goal scored during the group stage. The team capitalised on this by netting eight goals across three matches against Tanzania, Tunisia, and Uganda, earning $40,000.
Their goal-scoring prowess continued in the Round of 16, where four goals against Mozambique brought in an additional $40,000.
The Super Eagles now prepare to face Algeria’s Desert Foxes in the quarter-final at Marrakesh Stadium on Saturday. The squad will depart from Fès on Thursday ahead of the crucial encounter.
