Edo Queens have been crowned champions of the 2025/26 Nigeria Women's Football League Premiership after finishing top of the Super Six standings in Port Harcourt.
The Benin-based side secured the title with 10 points from five matches in the Super 6, sealing their second league crown after first winning the championship in 2024.
A goalless draw against Bayelsa Queens on the final day was enough to confirm Edo Queens as champions, with their closest challengers unable to overtake them. Bayelsa Queens and Nasarawa Amazons both finished on eight points, while Abia Angels ended the competition with six points. FC Robo and Rivers Angels finished with four points each.
Final day results saw Bayelsa Queens draw 0-0 with Edo Queens, Nasarawa Amazons play out a 0-0 draw against Rivers Angels, while Abia Angels and FC Robo settled for a 1-1 draw.
Edo Queens produced a consistent campaign throughout the season and the Super Six playoffs, establishing themselves as the team to beat in Nigerian women's football.
The title triumph also earns Edo Queens a place in the WAFU B qualifying tournament for the CAF Women's Champions League, where they will represent Nigeria on the continental stage.
The latest success reinforces the club's growing status in women's football, with the Benin Arsenals now celebrating their second NWFL title in three seasons.
