Ignatius CHIDUBEM’s 72nd-minute strike was the difference as Enyimba Feeders edged City Stars FC 1-0 in their Nationwide League One (NLO) matchday one clash at the Oisa Stadium in Okpala.
The Young Elephants began their campaign on a strong note, dominating possession and creating chances throughout the match. City Stars held firm defensively until a defensive lapse in the 72nd minute allowed CHIDUBEM to pounce on a loose ball and fire home a superb effort that left the goalkeeper helpless.
Enyimba Feeders held on to their slim lead, with goalkeeper Matthew Eze making crucial saves to preserve the clean sheet. Head coach Kingjoe Akuma praised his team’s discipline and highlighted CHIDUBEM’s goal as “a moment of brilliance.”
