NFF Partners with Ogun State For Football Events

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has officially sealed a partnership with Ogun State to host key football matches and events, aiming to boost the nation’s football and sports economy.

The agreement was confirmed during a courtesy visit by NFF President, Alhaji Ibrahim Musa Gusau, to Governor Dapo Abiodun at the Ogun State Government House. The visit also featured the ceremonial presentation of the 2024/2025 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) trophy to Remo Stars.

As part of the deal, Ogun State will host the Super Falcons' international friendly matches against Cameroon. The first leg is scheduled for Saturday, May 31 at the Remo Stars Stadium in Ikenne-Remo, while the second leg will hold on Tuesday, June 3 at the MKO Abiola Sports Complex in Abeokuta.

Additionally, Ogun State has been awarded the hosting rights for the WAFU B U17 Boys Championship, set to take place in September.

This partnership marks a significant step in decentralizing football development and leveraging regional support to grow Nigeria's sports infrastructure.
