Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) President Ibrahim Gusau, along with members of the NFF Executive Board, visited Super Eagles striker Taiwo Awoniyi at his home in Nottingham, UK, on Thursday. The visit aimed to check on Awoniyi’s health and recovery after a serious injury.
Gusau expressed satisfaction with Awoniyi’s positive spirit and steady progress following surgery. He prayed for the striker’s swift return to full fitness, emphasizing Awoniyi’s key role for both Nigeria and Nottingham Forest on and off the pitch.
The NFF president also reiterated the federation’s commitment to closely monitor Awoniyi’s rehabilitation and offer all necessary support.
Awoniyi thanked Gusau and the NFF delegation for their visit and encouragement. He confirmed that his recovery was advancing well under medical care and affirmed his determination to come back stronger.
