Abubakar Bukola Saraki (ABS) Ilorin FC delivered a dominant performance on Saturday, defeating Madiba FC 3-1 in a Nigeria National League (NNL) Matchday 20 fixture at the Rashidi Yekini Mainbow George Innih Stadium, Ilorin.
Ajina Boluwatife opened the scoring in the 17th minute to give the hosts an early lead. Ayoku Abdulrahman doubled the advantage just before halftime. Madiba FC managed to respond with a goal in stoppage time, but it was not enough to shift the momentum.
Barely into the second half, Jamiu Onikoko restored ABS Ilorin’s two-goal cushion, effectively sealing the result.
Head coach Anthony Encho praised his side’s performance, stating, “The game was good. I'm happy with the result, even though we lost chances. But we're improving in terms of goal scoring. This is the first time we've scored three goals in the second round, so it's a huge win for us.”
The win boosts ABS Ilorin’s position in the NNL Southern Conference B standings. They will travel to face Abakaliki FC in their next fixture.
