The Chairman of the Nigerian National League (NNL), George Aluo, has restated his board’s commitment to upholding integrity and fairness as teams vie for spots in the Super Eight — the decisive phase for promotion to the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).
Aluo emphasized that only the most deserving clubs will secure promotion, dismissing any chance of external influence over the league’s outcome. “We have maintained a high level of integrity since we came on board,” he said. “We are very determined to reposition the league, which is evident in the performance of the teams promoted last season.”
He noted that the current NNL leadership is working in line with international best practices and remains focused on improving the league's structure and reputation.
The chairman also thanked Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) President Ibrahim Gusau for his ongoing support, assuring stakeholders that the NNL is on course to becoming the best-run league in the country.
Aluo’s comments come as the NNL enters a critical stage, with teams competing fiercely for a place in the Super Eight and a shot at top-flight football.
