NNL Lifts Suspension on Barau FC Fans Entering Dambatta Stadium

The Nigerian National League (NNL) has officially lifted the suspension that barred fans of Barau FC from attending matches at the Dambatta Stadium.

In an official letter dated May 6, 2025, and addressed to the Kano State Football Association and Barau FC, the NNL confirmed it had granted the club’s appeal to lift the suspension. The letter, signed by the league’s Chief Operating Officer, Danlami Alanana, reads:

“We acknowledge receipt of a letter from Barau FC dated 30th April, 2025 on the above subject. The Nigeria National League has granted their request.”

The NNL, however, set two key conditions to ensure future compliance and security:
  1. The Kano State Football Association must “provide adequate and effective security before, during and after their matches to forestall future security lapses.”
  2. Barau FC, through the Kano State Football Association, must submit a written undertaking “assuring of conducive and incidence-free match situations in their subsequent home matches.”
With the suspension now lifted, fans are permitted to return to the Dambatta Stadium starting with Sunday’s clash between Barau FC and Wikki Tourists, scheduled for 3:00 PM.
