Rivers Angels Secure First Win of NWFL Super 6 with Victory Over Naija Ratels



Rivers Angels bounced back to winning ways with a 2-0 win over Naija Ratels on Matchday 4 of the NWFL Premiership Super 6 in Ikenne.

Goals from Titilayo Aweda in the 25th minute and Mary Moses in the 86th minute sealed the crucial victory for the Port Harcourt side, who had failed to win any of their previous three matches.



Match stats showed Rivers Angels edged the contest with six shots on target to Naija Ratels’ four. Both teams had four saves and nine fouls each, but Rivers Angels dominated the corners 5-0. They were also flagged offside four times compared to Ratels’ one.



Rivers Angels came into the game after a 1-0 loss to Bayelsa Queens, a 1-1 draw with Edo Queens, and a 2-1 defeat to Nasarawa Amazons.

Naija Ratels, meanwhile, remained winless in the competition, having previously lost 2-1 to Nasarawa Amazons, 1-0 to Remo Stars Ladies, and 2-0 to Edo Queens.
