Bayelsa Queens FC has officially moved into a new and improved camp, ending a three-year stay at their previous facility. The relocation, backed by the Bayelsa State Government under the Prosperity Administration, aims to provide a more comfortable and motivating environment for the players.
During an inspection of the new facility, Hon. Commissioner for Sports Development, Dr. Baraladei Daniel Igali, emphasized the significance of a conducive atmosphere in sports development.
"Football is more than a game. It's a universal language that inspires and unites. With better conditions, athletes are driven to greatness both on and off the pitch," Dr. Igali stated.
He added that with the new accommodation in place, expectations are higher, especially as Bayelsa Queens prepare to represent Nigeria in the upcoming CAF WAFU-B tournament.
"Success is no accident. It comes from hard work, perseverance, learning, sacrifice, and most importantly, love for what you do," he said.
Chairman of the club, Pastor Robin Angonimi Apreala, expressed gratitude to Governor Douye Diri, Deputy Governor Senator Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo, and Dr. Igali for their unwavering support and leadership.
“The Prosperity Government has shown commitment by not just listening to the team but also responding with meaningful action,” Pastor Apreala said. “Their mentorship has been vital to our growth.”
He added that the gesture is a clear motivation for the team to aim higher. “We must now redouble our efforts on the pitch and strive to win more trophies for the State.”
Bayelsa Queens FC will now focus on their preparations for the continental stage, buoyed by a renewed sense of support and belonging.
