Usman Abdallah has officially stepped down as Technical Adviser of Kano Pillars, citing the emergence of an important opportunity that, according to him, cannot be handled alongside his current role at the club.
In a heartfelt audio message to supporters, Abdallah confirmed his departure and shared his appreciation for the club, its management, and the fans.
“Due to something important that has come my way, I have decided to step down as Technical Adviser of this great club,” Abdallah said. “I had earlier informed the Chairman of this development, and we mutually agreed that it is best I step aside so the club can appoint someone who can fully commit to driving the team forward.”
Abdallah, who joined the club just before the start of the 2024/2025 NPFL season, led Sai Masu Gida to a 9th-place finish with 53 points—an improvement from their previous campaign. Despite the progress, he emphasized that stepping aside was necessary to avoid compromising the club’s ambitions.
“Though I am stepping down, I will continue to support Kano Pillars FC from afar and offer advice whenever needed. This club is our pride, and I am always willing to contribute to its success in any way possible,” he added.
Abdallah also had special words for the club’s loyal fan base:
“What I will miss the most are the fans. Their passion, resilience, and unwavering support were the biggest reasons I accepted the role. Thank you for everything.”
The club’s management, led by Chairman Alhaji Ali Muhammad Umar, thanked Abdallah for his professionalism and service, wishing him success in his future endeavours.
Kano Pillars are now expected to begin the search for a new head coach ahead of the next NPFL campaign.
