Gateway United secured a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Osun United in a Nigeria National League (NNL) Matchday 21 encounter, with Babatunde Taofeek named Man of the Match for his outstanding performance.
The forward opened the scoring in the 22nd minute, showcasing composure and precision as he rounded the Osun United goalkeeper after receiving a pinpoint through pass from Olanese Saburi before calmly slotting the ball into the net.
Osun United responded just before halftime, with Abimbola Mujeed leveling the score in the 45th minute to send both sides into the break on equal footing.
Gateway United regained their lead in the 60th minute through Okeowo Seyi, who fired home a stunning finish to seal all three points for the home side.
Taofeek’s contribution—both in attack and overall gameplay—earned him the Man of the Match award, which was presented by the club’s General Manager, Niyi Soleye.
With this victory, Gateway United continue their strong push in the NNL as the season heads into its final stretch.
