Newly appointed General Manager of Kano Pillars FC and Super Eagles captain, Ahmed Musa, has pledged to restore the club’s lost glory and position it as one of Africa’s leading football institutions.
Musa made the commitment during a familiarisation meeting with the club's Chairman, Alhaji Ali Muhammad Umar, and board members on Monday. He expressed strong determination to transform the four-time Nigerian champions by building on their rich history and globalising the brand.
According to the Media and Communications Directorate of the club, Musa, who previously starred for Leicester City and CSKA Moscow, stated that the time to act is now, adding that his goal is to elevate the club to international standards.
“Kano Pillars is our club and one of the most successful in Nigeria, but in recent years, the story has changed,” Musa said. “With your support and the backing of the Board members, I will do everything possible to reposition the club and make it one of the finest not only in Africa but globally.”
He emphasised his readiness to work with stakeholders both locally and internationally, noting that his European football experience and deep understanding of Nigerian football would be key assets in achieving the club’s vision.
Musa also stressed the need for unity, planning, and commitment from all involved management, players, supporters, and partners to drive the club forward.
His appointment by the Kano State Government, led by Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, is seen as a strategic move aimed at reviving the fortunes of the club and aligning it with global best practices.
With Musa at the helm, Kano Pillars enters a new chapter of ambition, professionalism, and hope for success on and off the pitch.
