Bayelsa Queens Football Club have completed the signing of prolific forward Janet Akekoromowei from Nasarawa Amazons FC ahead of the 2024/25 season.
Akekoromowei, who finished as the second-highest goal scorer in the Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) last season, will wear the iconic No. 9 shirt for the Prosperity Girls.
Her arrival is seen as a major boost for Bayelsa Queens as they gear up for the CAF Women’s Champions League and the new NWFL Premiership campaign. The club described the move as a reflection of their ongoing commitment to strengthening the squad with top talent and raising the bar for women's football in Nigeria and across Africa.
Speaking after sealing the deal, Janet expressed her excitement: “I’m excited to join Bayelsa Queens and can’t wait to give my best for this great club.”
