Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) has expressed deep sorrow over the death of former Super Eagles goalkeeper, Peter Rufai, fondly known as "Dodo Mayana", who passed away on Thursday at the age of 61.
In an official statement, the Ibadan-based club described Rufai as a symbol of dedication, commitment, and loyalty to Nigeria, mourning his loss as a rude shock to the football community.
“Although he is gone, we will never forget Rufai's immeasurable contributions to the rise of Nigeria in the round leather game globally,” the statement read.
3SC extended heartfelt condolences to Rufai's family, the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), and the entire Nigerian football fraternity.
"May his soul rest in peace," the statement concluded.
