El-Kanemi Warriors head coach, Suleiman Kabiru Dogo, has called for the establishment of youth teams within the club as a strategic step toward long-term success and sustainability.
Speaking during an interview with the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) at the El-Kanemi Warriors Stadium in Maiduguri, Coach Dogo expressed deep appreciation to the people of Borno State for their unwavering support since his appointment as head coach.
He also thanked the Executive Governor of Borno State and the Honourable Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development for their efforts in repositioning El-Kanemi Warriors as a strong force in Nigerian football.
Highlighting the importance of nurturing young talent, Coach Dogo proposed the creation of youth teams starting with an Under-19 side. He noted that a structured youth system could serve as a steady source of talent for the senior team.
"I believe strongly in youth development because I have coached several youth teams and achieved great success," Dogo said. "With a solid youth setup, we can gradually integrate young talents into the senior team. When properly structured, 60 to 70 percent of our squad could eventually be made up of homegrown players from Borno State."
Coach Dogo reaffirmed his commitment to building a team that reflects the identity, resilience, and pride of Borno.
