Ejigbo City FC have officially unveiled Lawal J. Wasiu as their new head coach ahead of the 2025 Nationwide League One (NLO) campaign.
The unveiling took place earlier today in Ejigbo, Osun State, where the team has resumed training in preparation for the upcoming season. The club chairman, Mr Mubarak Shangare, made the announcement on behalf of the management.
Coach Lawal J. Wasiu brings a wealth of experience to the role, having worked with several clubs locally and internationally. His coaching résumé includes stints at Kogi United, ABS Ilorin, Ewedje FC Probe (Benin Republic), and Rising Royal International FA, among others.
A former player himself, Coach Wasiu previously featured for Wikki Tourists, Uromi United, and NAF Rockets during his playing career.
Expressing his gratitude, Coach Wasiu thanked the club’s management for the opportunity:
“Thank you, President Mr Mubarak Shangare, and the entire management team of Ejigbo City FC, for this great honour. I am truly grateful for the trust you’ve placed in me to lead this team as Head Coach,” he said.
“I am excited about this new challenge and the opportunity to work with such a talented group of players. My vision is to build a team that is strong, united, and driven to succeed. With the support of the management, staff, and fans, I am confident that we can achieve greatness.”
Coach Wasiu further assured that he will work tirelessly to make Ejigbo City FC a formidable side in the league.
