El-Kanemi Warriors are intensifying their pre-season training as preparations continue for the 2025/2026 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) campaign, according to a update from the club's Media Officer Gaga.
Head Coach Kabiru Suleiman Dogo is focused on getting the team into peak condition, ensuring that the squad meets the necessary physical and tactical requirements to compete at the highest level.
In a timely development, Club Captain Zayad Musa has rejoined the team following his omission from the final CHAN Eagles squad. His return is regarded as a significant morale booster within the camp.
The Maiduguri-based club has confirmed they will kick off their NPFL campaign at home against Bendel Insurance FC of Benin. The fixture will be played at the El-Kanemi Stadium, marking the beginning of what promises to be a competitive season for the Babagana Umara Zulum Boys.
Goalkeeper trainer Usman Casillas has also resumed duties with the goalkeeping unit after a short break. Casillas recently represented Nigeria at the WAFU Cup in Ghana. In a nostalgic moment, he was reunited with former Technical Adviser Samaila Ado during his visit to Ghana.
The club has further strengthened its ranks with the signing of five new players from various clubs. While the names are yet to be officially announced, more additions are expected before the transfer window closes.
Midfielder Al'amin Umar has publicly reaffirmed his commitment to the club, declaring he is “100% dedicated” to helping El-Kanemi Warriors achieve success this season.
