El-Kanemi Warriors FC will begin their 2025/2026 Nigerian league campaign with a home tie against Bendel Insurance FC of Benin, following Monday’s official draw ceremony held in Abuja.
The event, which attracted club chairmen, team owners, officials of the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF), and the league’s management body, marked a significant step in preparations for the upcoming season.
Chairman of El-Kanemi Warriors, Malam Ibrahim Mainu Mustapha, was in attendance to represent the Maiduguri-based side. He expressed optimism ahead of the new season, assuring fans of the team’s readiness and reaffirming the club's dedication to professionalism both on and off the field.
During the meeting, league stakeholders deliberated on several critical issues, including fair competition, improved officiating standards, and enhanced security at match venues. These discussions reflect growing efforts to elevate the standard and integrity of Nigerian domestic football.
As anticipation builds in Maiduguri and across the nation, El-Kanemi Warriors, nicknamed The Pride of Kanem Dynasty, are aiming for a successful, injury-free campaign.
