Ikorodu City FC have been crowned champions of the Eko International Cup 2025 after a strong display throughout the tournament, capped by a 1-0 victory over fellow Lagos side, Smart City FC, in the final.
Led by Coach Nurudeen Aweroro, the team impressed with their resilience and attacking style. Their campaign began with a thrilling 2-2 draw against Shooting Stars before they went on to defeat Rivers United FC 1-0, setting the tone for their eventual triumph.

Earlier in the day, Rivers United claimed third place with a convincing 3-0 win over Remo Stars, adding a respectable finish to their campaign.
Coach Aweroro, known for his progressive approach and tactical acumen, had previously guided the team to an outstanding debut season in the Nigeria Premier Football League. Under his leadership, Ikorodu City scored over 60 goals, secured a fourth-place finish on the league table, and reached the semi-finals of the President Federation Cup.
