Enyimba FC Chairman and Nigerian football legend, Kanu Nwankwo, has appealed for patience and support as the club undergoes major restructuring.
Speaking during the 2025 NNL Super 8 tournament, Kanu outlined the challenges he met upon assuming leadership, including the absence of a proper office, players’ camp, clubhouse, training pitch, and feeder teams.
He noted that his administration is working hard to rebuild the club’s structure, with efforts already underway to establish youth teams and construct a new office and clubhouse.
Kanu urged fans and stakeholders to focus on constructive criticism and show patience, stressing that restoring Enyimba’s glory will take time.
“Enyimba should be the greatest club in Nigeria, not just in trophies, but in structure and professionalism. This board deserves commendation, not condemnation,” he said.
Despite recent pressure from fans over inconsistent results, Kanu remains confident that with continued effort and public backing, the club will return to the top of Nigerian and African football.
