The Nigeria National League (NNL) has confirmed a change of venue for two crucial Match Day 3 fixtures in the ongoing Super 8 Playoffs, due to poor pitch conditions at the Jay Jay Okocha Stadium, Ogwashi-Uku.
The affected matches — Barau FC vs Doma United (Conference A) and Osun United vs Kun Khalifa FC (Conference B) — will now be played at the Delta State University of Science and Technology Stadium in Ozoro on Thursday.
NNL Chairman George Aluo announced the decision after inspecting the Ozoro facility, saying the switch was necessary to ensure player safety and preserve the quality of the competition.
“We want to ensure player safety and uphold the integrity of the competition,” Aluo said.
Kickoff times for both fixtures have been adjusted to 10:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. respectively at the new venue.
Meanwhile, the Stephen Keshi Stadium in Asaba remains the main venue and will host the other fixtures including Wikki Tourists vs Yobe Desert Stars and Warri Wolves vs Crown FC.
With the final group matches approaching, the NNL leadership reiterated its commitment to fairness by ensuring all matches in both conferences will be played simultaneously to maintain competitive balance.
The top two teams from each conference will gain promotion to the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) for the 2025/2026 season. The group winners will meet in Saturday’s final to decide the overall NNL champion.
