Five players have become ineligible to represent Nigeria at the upcoming African Nations Championship (CHAN) after securing moves to clubs outside the country.
The affected players are Abubakar Sadiq, Philip Adejo, Saviour Isaac, Papa Daniel and Waliu Ojetoye. All five are no longer eligible for selection as CHAN rules permit only players active in their domestic leagues.
In addition, Ifeanyi Onyebuchi will miss the tournament due to injury, further limiting options ahead of the competition.
The development comes as a major setback to the Super Eagles B team as preparations intensify for the continental tournament.
