Yobe Desert Stars Football Club have taken major steps to rebuild their team following the conclusion of the 2024/25 Nigeria National League (NNL) season and the recent playoffs in Asaba, Delta State.
In a statement released on Saturday, the club confirmed the dissolution of its entire backroom staff with immediate effect. Only the Club Secretary and one member of the media team have been retained to maintain administrative continuity.
As part of the restructuring process, the contracts of the club captain and first-choice goalkeeper have been terminated. The management also placed 20 players on the transfer list as they prepare for the upcoming season.
These decisions were reached during a high-level meeting held in Damaturu, where the club's performance was thoroughly reviewed. The technical team presented a detailed post-season report to the Chairman of the Management Committee, Mohammed Alkali Achama, which included observations and recommendations for the future.
The sweeping changes underscore the club's ambition to build a more competitive squad and improve results in the next campaign.
