Abdullahi Usman Strikes Twice as Wikki Outclass Si14 at Gusau Ahlan Preseason

Wikki Tourists continued their impressive campaign at the Gusau Ahlan Preseason Tournament with a hard-fought 3–2 win over Si14 in their third group match.

Abdullahi Usman once again underlined his importance to the team, scoring twice in the 5th and 40th minutes to hand Wikki an early lead. The Tourists extended their advantage with a third goal just before half-time, capitalising on a defensive mistake by Si14.

Head coach Abdu Maikaba made three substitutions at the start of the second half to maintain the team’s tempo. Si14, however, showed resilience and pulled a goal back in the 65th minute. They added a second deep into stoppage time, but it was not enough to deny Wikki a well-deserved victory.

The result marked Wikki’s second win of the tournament. They opened their campaign with a 2–1 triumph over Ben FC before suffering a narrow 3–2 loss to Nasarawa United.

Speaking after the match, Coach Maikaba revealed that the tournament is being used to evaluate his squad and prepare thoroughly for the upcoming season. He expressed satisfaction with the team’s performance and steady progress.

Wikki’s ability to control the game against Si14 is particularly noteworthy. The same Si14 side were hammered 5–0 by Nasarawa United earlier in the tournament, yet Wikki ran the Solid Miners close and managed a controlled win over Si14, highlighting their growing confidence and team cohesion.
