Chelle Names 23-Man Super Eagles Squad for September World Cup Qualifiers



Super Eagles head coach Eric Chelle has named a final 23-man squad for Nigeria’s September World Cup qualifiers against Rwanda and South Africa.

The list, released on Friday, includes captain William Troost-Ekong, midfield anchor Wilfred Ndidi, and prolific striker Victor Osimhen. Goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali also makes a return after recovering from a knock sustained in Chippa United’s recent fixture.

Ndidi and Alex Iwobi are expected to provide stability in midfield, while Osimhen and Ademola Lookman will spearhead the team’s attacking threat as the Eagles look to secure vital points in their qualifying campaign.

The Super Eagles’ camp will open in Uyo on Monday, 1 September. Nigeria will host Rwanda at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium on Saturday, 6 September before travelling to Bloemfontein to face South Africa on Tuesday, 9 September.
