Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) has been thrown into mourning following the death of Coach Akin Olowokere, who tragically slumped and passed away on the pitch on Monday, 11 August 2025.
In an official statement, the Oluyole Warriors described the news as a deep shock and profound sadness, noting that Coach Olowokere was more than just a dedicated and passionate football tactician. He was also a mentor, friend, and father figure to many players and colleagues.
The club praised his compassion and unwavering commitment during his short stint with the team, as well as his contributions to the wider football community. They expressed hope that his legacy will continue to inspire future generations.
Shooting Stars extended heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, colleagues, players, and the entire Nigerian football fraternity, affirming their solidarity in this period of grief.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and loved ones. May his soul rest in perfect peace,” the club stated.
