KMK Foundation Academy Secure Second Win at Tico/Select Tournament

KMK Foundation Academy continued their impressive run in the 2025 Ifeanyi Ekwueme Tico/Select Preseason Tournament, claiming a narrow 1-0 victory over Inter Aba FC on Sunday.

The Uyo-based side, coached by Prince Usen Ebuk, sealed the win in the opening fixture of matchday two at the Aba Centre, with Daniel Paul finding the net in the 79th minute to earn all three points.

Speaking after the match, Coach Ebuk credited the team’s success to the discipline of his players. “We expected a tough game against Inter Aba, especially after Saturday’s performance,” he said.

He also commended the organisers of the tournament and the sponsor, Ifeanyi Ekwueme, for the level of professionalism and organisation shown. “Our goal is to reach the final and continue improving our game plan,” he added.

Despite the loss, Inter Aba head coach Bright Mbuko remained positive. “We didn’t perform badly today. After conceding five goals yesterday, it was a better outing to only let in one,” he said.

With two wins from two matches, KMK Foundation Academy now sit on six points. They are set to face newly promoted Nigeria Premier Football League side, Kun Khalifat FC, in their next match on Monday at 4pm.
