Nasarawa United’s hopes of reaching the final of the 4th Gusau/Ahlan Cup Pre-season Football Tournament ended on Wednesday evening with a 0-2 defeat to arch-rivals Plateau United at the Lafia City Stadium.
The tightly contested first half saw both sides cancel each other out, with the Solid Miners enjoying more possession and creating scoring chances that went unconverted.
The visitors broke the deadlock three minutes after the restart through Joshua Dabo, before Maren Kefas doubled the lead in the 64th minute to seal victory for Plateau United.
Despite late pressure from the home side, the scoreline remained unchanged, sending Plateau United into the final where they will face Kano Pillars, who had earlier beaten Wikki Tourists 2-0 in the other semi-final.
