The Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) has issued a strong warning to the public over a fraudulent online advertisement falsely claiming to be a recruitment notice for photographers on behalf of the league.
In a statement released on Wednesday, the NPFL disowned the advert, which was circulated through a fake email address, npflnews.aquavisioninc@gmail.com, and shared widely across social media.
The league stressed that it did not authorise any individual, group, or organisation to conduct recruitment of photographers, staff, or contractors on its behalf through the said email or any other unofficial channel. It further clarified that the email address and other contact details in the publication are fraudulent.
“This is a deliberate case of impersonation and misrepresentation intended to mislead unsuspecting members of the public. The NPFL completely dissociates itself from this advert and strongly advises the public to disregard it in its entirety,” the statement read.
The league also confirmed that the matter has been formally reported to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for investigation and prosecution of those responsible.
Reassuring its stakeholders, the NPFL emphasised its commitment to transparency and integrity in Nigerian football, while urging football enthusiasts, media practitioners, and potential partners to verify all information only through its official website, www.npfl.com.ng, and other verified communication platforms.
