Optimum FC have etched their name in history by sealing promotion to the Nigeria Nationwide League One (NLO One) in their debut season. The feat, achieved on 14 August 2025, makes the club one of the first teams from Ondo State to reach this milestone.
Founded in 2021 with a vision to identify and develop young talent, the club’s philosophy has now borne fruit. Their youthful squad defied expectations, overcoming challenges to achieve what many considered impossible.
A standout figure in the campaign was academy product Malle Prosperity, an SSS2 student whose performances earned him the league’s Most Valuable Player recognition. The youngster not only provided crucial assists but also scored the decisive goal that sealed promotion for the side.
Club officials hailed the achievement as proof of their structured system and commitment to youth development. Media Manager, Femi A, said the promotion reflects the club’s guiding principle of striving for excellence, captured in their motto Nil Satis Nisi Optimum — Nothing but the best is good enough.
With promotion secured, Optimum FC have vowed to continue nurturing young players while setting their sights on greater achievements in Nigerian football.
