Barau Football Club have unveiled former Nigeria U20 coach, Isah Ladan Bosso, as their new Technical Adviser ahead of the 2025/2026 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season.
The unveiling took place during a reception hosted by the Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Barau I. Jibrin, on Monday, 11 August 2025, in Kano. The event celebrated the club’s promotion from the Nigeria National League (NNL) to the NPFL.
According to Barau FC Media Officer, Ahmad Hamisu Gwale, Senator Barau also donated 35 motorcycles and ₦17.5 million to the players in recognition of their achievement.
Senator Barau urged the players to approach the new season with dedication, discipline, and hard work, emphasising that their promotion was a historic moment for the club. He expressed confidence in the team’s ability to secure a continental ticket, noting that recent signings from various clubs have strengthened the squad.
In his address, the Special Adviser to the Deputy President of the Senate on Youths and Sports, Comrade Kabiru Ado Lakwaya, praised Senator Barau’s contribution to youth development in Nigeria.
Club President, Shawall Barau Jibrin, and Chairman, Ambassador Ibrahim Shitu Chanji, also commended the Deputy Senate President for his support. Speaking on behalf of the players, Usman Maidubji expressed gratitude, adding that history would remember the senator’s role in promoting Nigerian youth development.
