Shooting Stars SC Set Eyes on Youth Development as U-19 Team Departs for NPFL Youth League

Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) have confirmed the participation of their Under-19 team in the 2024 NPFL Youth League, which kicked off on Sunday, 4 August at the Remo Stars Stadium in Ikenne.

Club Chairman Hon. Taiwo Lekan Salami was present to see the team off ahead of the competition, which runs until 10 August.

Sporting Director Adepoju Tobi Samuel expressed optimism about the future of the youth structure at 3SC, outlining plans aimed at long-term sustainability and talent development.

"Part of our objectives for Shooting Stars SC is to revamp the Youth Team with a short and long-term projection," Adepoju said. "We are focusing on homegrown talent and putting in place developmental programmes, with the right coaches and a conducive environment to help them grow."

He stressed the need for adequate funding and patience, noting that the Youth Team project, if properly financed, could boost the club's financial standing within four years.

“We are glad to announce that our Youth Team will participate in this year’s NPFL Youth League in Ikenne. This tournament will set the roadmap for the Youth Team re-engineering,” he added.

Shooting Stars' participation signals a renewed commitment to grassroots football and a strategic push to nurture future stars for the Ibadan-based club.
