KMK Foundation Academy head coach, Usen, has described the Tico/Select Pre-Season Tournament as the best and most organised competition his team has ever participated in, following back-to-back wins at the ongoing event in Aba.
Coach Usen's side have impressed at the tournament so far, beginning their campaign with a dominant 5-0 victory over Excellent FA, followed by a hard-fought 1-0 win against Inter Aba FC. The coach hailed his players’ spirit and determination in both matches.
"I am proud of my boys and the way they have played in this tournament. They have shown great character and determination in both of our wins," Usen told reporters after their second win.
The young coach further stressed that his team came to Aba with clear intent, aiming to make a strong statement with their performances.
"We are here in Aba for a statement, and I believe we are showing what we are capable of. Every game in this tournament is important for us. We want to take advantage of every opportunity and showcase our talent," he added.
Beyond the pitch, Coach Usen commended the standard of organisation at the Tico/Select Pre-Season Tournament. He lauded the quality of facilities and the overall hospitality provided to participating teams.
"The Tico/Select Pre-Season Tourney has been the best-organised competition I have ever been a part of. The facilities are outstanding, and the hospitality has been exceptional. It's been a pleasure for us to be a part of it," Usen noted.
With two wins from two, KMK Foundation Academy have caught the eye in Aba, and expectations are building as they aim to continue their strong form in the coming fixtures. The team’s performance reflects a blend of talent, preparation and purpose, all driven by the coach’s belief in using the tournament as a springboard for national recognition.
As the pre-season event progresses, the KMK side remain one of the standout teams, with their eyes firmly set on more success.
