Wikki Tourists FC have secured a place in the semi-finals of the 2025 GusauAhlan Preseason Competition after a commanding 3–0 win over Niger Tornadoes at the Lafia City Stadium on Sunday.
The Bauchi-based side wasted no time asserting their dominance, with Sadiq Abdullahi opening the scoring in the sixth minute. Nine minutes later, Nickson Ironsi doubled the advantage from the penalty spot. Ahmad Abubakar Lamido completed the rout in the 75th minute with a composed finish.
Wikki’s midfield and defence combined effectively to stifle Tornadoes’ attacking moves, while their pressing and passing accuracy gave the opposition little room to operate. Klinshak Longbak’s influential performance earned him the Man of the Match award, presented by former Wikki Tourists Technical Adviser Azeez Audu Mohammed.

Head coach Abdu Maikaba praised his team’s steady improvement, telling WTFC Media: “If you look at our results, you can see the boys have been improving match after match. I’m happy with their resilience and commitment. We will not relent until we achieve our ultimate target of winning this trophy.”
Wikki Tourists will face the winner of Katsina United’s clash with Kano Pillars in the semi-final on Wednesday, 13 August 2025. The fixture between Katsina and Pillars will be decided on Monday, 11 August 2025.
