Sanni Assures Improvements After Kwara United’s Narrow Loss to Remo Stars

Kwara United Head Coach Tunde Sanni has assured fans that his team will address the lapses noticed in their 2-1 defeat to Remo Stars in the opening match of the 2025 ValueJet Preseason Tournament on Saturday in Ikenne.

The NPFL champions took the lead in the 30th minute through Jerome, with Victor Mbaoma adding a second seven minutes later. The Harmony Boys responded quickly as Babatunde Bright reduced the deficit in the 39th minute, setting up an intense second half.

Late in the game, Issah Gata came close to drawing level twice, but the Remo Stars goalkeeper pulled off crucial saves to maintain the hosts’ lead.

Sanni used the encounter to assess potential new signings, including Gidado Toheeb, Babatunde Bright, and Oluwasegun Ogunribide, praising their resilience and promise.

“It’s a work in progress,” Sanni said, expressing confidence that the team would improve as the tournament continues.

Kwara United will face Ikorodu City today (Monday, 11 August 2025) at 2:00pm.
